Family

Lately I have been feeling very fortunate for having a family. I've been through some pretty crazy stuff this year and my family has been supportive through it all. They haven't judged. They haven't criticized. They've just been there for me when I've needed them. I have amazing sisters who are amazing mothers and women and have always been great examples to me. My parents have always loved and supported me in all that I do, and they tell me on a regular basis. My brothers are willing to give you the shirt off their backs if that's what you needed. I truly am blessed and hope that Declan will continue to be exposed to these great people whom I call my family.

Declan's First Real Holiday

Over the years my family has really gotten into Halloween (mostly because of Mandz and Scott - they've taken it to a whole new level, which is awesome!). I love Halloween and I usually end up making costumes for the little kids on Halloween. This year I got so involved with it that by the time it came to a costume for my kid....well this is what he ended up with...... a fly fisherman costume...
Next year though, I owe him a seriously cool costume. This year we went with Scott and Mandz and Logan to a Halloween Carnival, on Friday, which was fun. I know Declan is too small to really enjoy any of the activities, but I take him anyway. I figure he's going to have to get used to the atmosphere and the being out and about because that's who we are.

On Saturday (actual day Halloween was celebrated) Declan and I went and hung out with his dad's family. We visited his Aunt Misty and then we went to his Grandma Wendy's house and then his Aunt Noelle came over with her family to visit. It was a lot of fun and we had a good time. I didn't get any pictures of the visit, but will do better next time. (Still getting used to having to take pictures of the event's in my kid's life).

All in all, it was a great holiday. I have to include this picture just because I love it! This is how things usually go when Declan and Logan are "hanging out". This kid just kills me!

So it begins......

I always swore I would never be a blogger. I also always said I'd never have children. Yet....here I am. I'm the mother of one amazing little boy. It's been a crazy journey getting him here, getting him healthy and adjusting to each other but I think we're on track now. It's hard to believe this little guy started out at a meager 3 lbs. 13 oz. .....
and now he's breaking my back at 15 lbs. He's changed my life is every possible way and I'm absolutely in love with this little guy.

I decided to start this blog to document our adventures. I know there are about three whole people who are going to read this blog and that's great (that's two less times I have to re-tell the story). I make no guarantees on how often I'll blog - who knows maybe I'll get really crazy with it and blog all the time- doubt it. Anyway...for the three of you out there that are interested, here you go......
